The "ISSNT DataMinds" team composed of three Master's in Data Science students – Jean MUKAMBA, Clarisse BASHIGE, and Patrick KAHINDO – won the 1st prize at the Kivu Tech Hackathon 2024, competing against 15 teams from across the Great Lakes region.
Their solution, “AgriPredict”, is a mobile application using artificial intelligence to predict agricultural yields and alert farmers to climate risks. The project won over the jury with its direct social impact and technical feasibility.
The team wins a grant of 5,000 USD to develop their prototype and will benefit from a 6-month incubation support at the Kivu Innovation Hub.
